Privacy Policy

Homebound Paws

Homebound Paws is a community platform that helps families recover lost dogs. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Information We Collect

When you post a lost dog poster, we collect the details you provide: your dog's name, breed, description and photos, the last seen location and date, your contact phone and email, and any reward amount. When you submit a sighting, we collect the location, date, description, optional contact details and any photos or videos you upload. If you create an account, we collect your email address and name.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to publish lost dog posters, show sightings to the dog's owner, send the owner an email alert when a new sighting is reported, help you share posters on social media, and operate and secure the service. We do not sell your personal information.

Information Visible to Others

Lost dog posters and sighting reports are public so the community can help. Contact details you add to a poster are visible to anyone who views it. Please only share contact information you are comfortable making public.

AI Assistant

Our in-app assistant processes the messages, photos and videos you send it in order to help with reporting, sharing and identifying dogs. Please avoid sharing sensitive personal information in chat.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure, and access to records is restricted so that only you (and administrators) can edit or delete what you post. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Cookies and Analytics

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, and may collect basic usage analytics to improve the app.

Your Choices

You can edit or delete your posters and sighting reports at any time while signed in. To request deletion of your account or data, contact us through the in-app assistant.

Children's Privacy

Homebound Paws is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always available on this page.
